I've learned that in order to get some things done or some changes made, - more.This is my job, an excellent store to work, I've been with them for two years with the lynner agency and then they gave me the opportunity and between companies, it can be applied directly through this way, it is not necessarily through a temporary agency. Often times moves are only made and things only get done when the order comes down from someone at a certain level of management, despite someone lower on the chain making the same suggestion prior. The hardest part of the job is trying to navigate in an environment with inconsistency in communication, discipline and management buy in on continuous improvement opportunities. They work hard because they feel good about doing it, not because I'm forcing them.
Greeting them each individually and not just speaking to them to demand high production or requests for overtime from them. Engaging with my associates and seeing how good it makes them feel. The teammates are overall a positive group and I find that they are willing to help in every way they can when you treat them respectfully and make them feel a sense of pride in their work. The workplace culture, though it has its flaws, is pretty comfortable. Also, members of the management team make things very personal and often times do not properly communicate. There's no consistency in corrective action. I've learned that management takes a very lackadaisical approach to discipline and often times the results are different for different people. However, on a more local scale, the culture in specific facilities varies greatly. The potential upside of this company is very promising and there is a vast array of opportunity with this company. GEODIS is an excellent company overall headed in a very positive direction.
